A New Jerusalem Artichoke Cultivar ‘Qingyu 5’

Abstract: ‘Qingyu 5’Jerusalem artichoke was selected from Danish Amorphophallus germplasm resources by systematic breeding method,new varieties suitable for cultivation and planting in alpine areas. The average per plant tubers is 18–25,the average single tuber size is 55–60 g,the average yield per plant is 0.99–1.50 kg. Belongs to the early maturing and the development period is 128–132 d. The occurrence of diseases and insect pests in the field is light,no quarantine disease occurred. The average of yield was 62 250 kg · hm-2. It is suitable for cultivation and planting in irrigated land and shallow mountains of Qinghai Province.
