A New Early-ripening Apple Cultivar‘Liuyuehong’

Abstract: ‘Liuyuehong’is a new early-ripening apple cultivar derived from‘Arkasas Black’× ‘Summer Apple’. The fruit is nearly round in shape and the average fruit weight is 148 g. The fruit skin is glossy,covered with deep red color. The flesh is sweet-sour,palatable and aromatic with good taste quality,firmness of 8.33 kg ? cm-2,soluble solids content of 12.50%. It is easy-flowering,early-productive,and the yield can be 36.8–39.0 t ? hm-2. The fruit development period is 72–76 d.
