A New Hot Pepper Cultivar‘Layou 13’

Abstract: ‘Layou 13’(Capsicum annuum L.)is a new hot pepper cultivar derived from excellent cytoplasmic male sterile(CMS)line 561A crossing with restoring line Z154. The fruit is green-colored,sheep-horn shaped. Ripe fruit is smooth-skinned with fresh red. The average single fruit is 12.2–13.3 cm long,12.8–15.6 g weigh. The average yield is about 35 000 kg ? hm-2. The soluble sugar content is 22.3 g ? kg-1,the protein content is 12.7 mg ? kg-1,and the vitamin C content is 1.07 mg ? g-1. It has high yield,good quality,good adaptability,medium maturity,resistance to high stress,and bacterial wilt disease. ‘Layou 13’is suitable for open field cultivation in spring in the areas of Guangdong,Guangxi and Hainan Province.
