Abstract: A new hybrid ‘Allium 1’was bred from the crossing the cytoplasmic male sterile line‘HG409A’with inbred line‘T608C’. It is a long-day onion hybrid with mid-late maturity and the bulbs can be harvested in 120–125 days from sowing．Bulbs are typically globe shaped with lustrous yellow skins.，moderate pungency，sweet taste and crisp texture. It can be stored for a long time. The single bulb weight is 240–260 g. The average yield is about 77 300 kg · hm^-2. This cultivar has resistance to purple blotch，downy mildew，gray mold etc. It is suitable for spring cultivation in Heilongjiang Province.
