Abstract: ‘Dongyan’is a new pomegranate cultivar which was selected from the superior individual. It matures about 30–40 days later than‘Jingpitian’. The fruit shape is subrotund，and the fruit shape index is 0.97. The average single fruit weight is 360 g. The soluble solids content is 16%. The juice yield is 85%. The cardinal red seeds with appropriate mouth feel are larger and the 100-seed weight reaches 52.4 g. The kernel is medium-soft and edulis. The cultivar has strong adaptability，high and stable production.
