A New Pear Cultivar 'Jinbali'

Abstract: 'Jinbali',a new pear variety, was selected from seedlings of 'Bartlett', which were irradiated by 60Co during the course of germinating. Its fruit is bigger, average fruit mass is 385 g and the shape seems gourd. Fruit skin is green-yellow, and flesh is white, soft, succulent, easy soluble, sweet-scented, and soluble solids content is 14.2%, and malic acid content is 0.11%. Fruit quality is excellent. The optimum harvesting time is in the last ten-day of August in the middle part of Shanxi province.
