Abstract: ‘Liliang’is a new cultivar selected from the natural population of Distylium buxifolium distributed in southwestern Zhejiang Province. Its annual growing branches are relatively robust. The leaves are leathery,ovate or elliptical. The length of leaf is 2.5-3.6 cm. The width of leaf is 1.1-1.7 cm. The margins of leaves are entire,and the apexes of leaves are rounded-obtuse or mucronate. The young leaves are from light brown-red to light yellow,then turns to green gradually with the leaves growing,but the margins of leaves are purple-red. The anthers are red. In Lishui city in Zhejiang province,its flowering period is from February to March. It is suitable for color blocks,hedges,and topiary balls in landscape design. It can be cultivated in all regions south of the Yangtze River in China.
