Abstract: ‘Yanshu 16’is a new fresh eating potato cultivar. It was developed through sexual hybridization and systematic selection,with JS172 as the female parent and the collected resource‘Kexing 16’as the male parent. It is a medium cultivar,with a growth period of about 90 days. The plant height is around 60.6 cm,the plant type is erect. The stems are green,leaves are green,and corollas are white.The tuber shape is round,with light yellow tuber skin medium,yellow flesh and shallow eyes. The tubers are large and uniform. The dry matter content of the tubers is 19.20%,starch content is 15.50%,protein content is 2.35%,reducing sugar content is 0.24%,and vitamin C content is 35.7 mg · g^-1. It is moderately resistant to potato virus X and potato virus Y virus disease,and moderately susceptible to potato late blight. The year average yield was 39 900 kg · hm^-2. This cultivar is suitable for spring planting in Yanbian,Siping,Songyuan and Changchun,Jilin Province in the one cropping region.
