Abstract: A new sweet cherry rootstock cultivar‘Jingchun 1’was derived from interspecific hybrids of sour cherry(Prunus cerusus)and Chinese cherry(Prunus pseudocerasus). It has very good grafting compatibility with most sweet cherry cultivars, moderate dwarfing ability, and slightly small foot phenomenon. It is highly resistant to crown gall disease. The fully yields of grafting trees can be reached after planting 4–5 years. The tree height,cross-section area and crown diameter of the‘Rainier’/‘Jingchun 1’grafting trees are lower than those of‘Rainier’/‘Landing 2’in the 5th year after planting, whereas the yields based on per cross-section area unit of‘Rainier’/‘Jingchun 1’is higher than that of‘Rainier’/ ‘Landing 2’. The average yield of‘Rainier’/‘Jingchun 1’was up to 16.7 kg per tree in the 6th year after planting.
