Abstract: ‘M1001’is a new early-medium ripening thick-skinned melon hybrid. It has strong growth vigor. The fruit is oval，and the average fruit weight is 1.36 kg. The skin is oyster white，and it will become a little yellow when over-matured，with ten light green shallow grooves. The flesh is oyster white，crispy，and 2.3 cm in thickness. The center soluble solids content is 17.6%. The whole growth period is 86–90 d，and fruit developing period is 32–38 d. It has moderate resistance of powdery mildew and downy mildew. This cultivar is suitable for protected cultivation in spring and fall in Hubei Province.
