A New High-flavonoid Apple Cultivar‘Manhong’

Abstract: ‘Manhong’is a new apple cultivar derived from the cross‘Gala’× CSR6R6. The fruit is nearly round,with an average fruit weight of 78.2 g. The whole fruit surface is bright red,smooth and glossy. The whole flesh is bright red,crispy,and has a slightly sour taste. The content of vitamin C and flavonoids in flesh is 0.049 mg ? g-1 and 13.9 mg ? g-1,respectively. It has good appearance,nutrition and processing quality. It blooms in early April and ripens in early September in Guanxian,Shandong. The fruit development period is 160 days. The yield reaches 29.06 t ? hm-2 in 3rd year. It has strong tree potential,wide adaptability,resistance to early leaf fall,powdery mildew,black-dot and red-dot disease.
