A New Single Pod Pepper Cultivar‘Yun Chaotianjiao 117

Abstract:

‘Yun Chaotianjiao 117was single pod pepper cultivar which developed by crossing 33-6-15-4-G2A(a cytoplasmic male sterility line of pepper)as maternal plant with 0314978(a restorer line)as paternal plant. The fruit is finger shaped,smooth surface with luster,deep green color in immature. Matured fruits color has a short period from orange-red to bright red. The average length and width of fruit are 8.5 cm and 0.9 cm respectively. The average weight per fresh fruit is 3.5 g,and total yield is about 22.5 t ? hm-2. The fruit has good taste with spicy and crisp. The short and thick fruit stalk is benefited for storage. The cultivar has highly resistance to virus disease,resistance to anthracnose,and relatively strong tolerance to stress. It’s suitable for fresh red pepper and cultivation in the open field.
