‘Zhuguang’,a New Excellent Tetraploid Table Cultivar of Sour Jujube

Abstract:

‘Zhuguang’,a pure autotetraploid new cultivar of sour jujube(Ziziphus acidojujuba Cheng et Liu),was induced from‘Xingtai 0604with colchicine by using a novel approach for rapid in vivo induction of homogeneous autopolyploid created in Chinese jujubeZ. jujuba Mill.). Its leaves are dark green with uneven margin. The fruits are big and round,with average weight of 7.76 g and high resistance to fruit shrinking and cracking. The flesh is crisp,sour-sweet,with good taste.‘Zhuguang’is characterized by early-fruiting and high yield. It is an excellent mid-ripening(early-mid of September)table cultivar which is suitable to be cultivated in Xianxian,Zanhuang,Xingtang of Hebei Province and other regions with similar ecological conditions.
