Abstract: ‘Eguotong’is a novel cultivar selected from Idesia polycarpa seedling populations in the Sichuan Basin and surrounding areas. This cultivar has a strong growth vigor,an open canopy,whorled branches,and grayish-white bark. The fruit cluster is 39-46 cm long and 8-12 cm wide,with a single cluster weight of 101.38-178.11 g. The fruit is orange-red,nearly round,with a diameter of 8.35-9.39 mm and each fruit weight of 0.32-0.41 g. The calyx remains on the fruit during the fruiting period. It is suitable for cultivation in the Sichuan Basin and surrounding areas at altitudes ranging from 300 to 1 500 m,and regions with similar environments.
