Abstract: ‘Huahe 1’walnut is an early-fruiting walnut cultivar developed through systematic selection of wild walnut seedlings in Xinjiang. This cultivar is protogynous,with vigorous growth,wide adaptability,good cold and drought tolerance,and strong disease resistance. The nuts are oval-shaped,with a shell thickness of about 1.18 mm,an average weight of 14.85 g,and nucleolus ratio 50.30%. The kernels are plump,light in color,sweet and fragrant. The oil content of 65.45%,unsaturated fatty acid content of 90.48%,and the quality is excellent. It has shown advantages of early fruiting,high yield and early maturity in different production areas of Shaanxi Province,and is suitable for both fresh consumption and processing. This cultivar is suitable for promotion and application in the central Shaanxi plain,southern Shaanxi,north of the Wei River,and similar ecological regions in Shaanxi. It is recommended for promotion and application in walnut production areas in Northwest and North China.
