Abstract: ‘Wanlou 17’is a new cultivar of Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim. developed by crossing female parent‘Wanlou 6’and male parent‘Xiongzhu 2’. The cultivar is mid-late ripening with 220-day growing cycle. The fruit shape is nearly round. The peel of immature fruit stage is light green and orange-yellow at the mature stage. The average weights of first-year-old fresh fruit and root are 389.8 g and 8.70 kg，which are 399.7 g and 16.50 kg separately in second year. There is a multi fruits per stem. The seed is long oval，plump-eared，with dark brown shell. The thousand grain weight is 333.0 g and the seed rate is 12.88%. The cultivar shows high resistance to the diseases of gummosis and fusarium wilt.
