Abstract:

‘Zhongai 5’is a new pear dwarfing rootstock variety which was selected from the seedling progenies of‘Jinxiang’. It is dwarf and compact, and one year old tree is about 17.3% height of the vigorous‘Zaosu’pear tree. As interstock,it had a good compatibility with rootstocks and scions, and it could evidently make the grafted tree more dwarfing, earlier fruiting, and better harvest.‘Zhongai 5’has a good resistant to pear branch ring rot and rot disease. It is hardy and there is no freeze injury around Xingcheng aeres of Liaoning Province. It is suitable for using in the central and south areas of Liaoning Province as dwarfing interstock.
