A New Largest-type Variety of Asian Pear ‘Qingxiang’

Abstract: ‘Qingxiang’, a new early-middle maturing variety of Asian pear ( Pyrus pyrifolia Nakai) , originated from a cross2combination of‘Xinshiji’ בSanhua’. ‘Qingxiang’matures from early to middle August in Hangzhou, and have about 135 d of fruit growth period. The fruit is oblate and yellowish-brown in skin colour. The average fruit mass is 280 g, with the larger fruit mass ismore than 580 g. The flesh is white, soft, sweet, non2residue and juicy. The average Brix percentage is 11% - 12%.
