A New White Fruit Mulberry Cultivar‘Sangzi 3’

Abstract: A new mulberry cultivar‘Sangzi 3’was selected from the F1 hybrid offspring between ‘Zhenzhubai’(female parent,a local fruit mulberry cultivar in Anhui),and‘Dabai Zhenzhu’(male parent,which was introduced from South Korea). The seven-year-old grafting tree is about 2.2 m high,with strong stem,erect branches,and few lateral branches. The fruiting branches are strong with bluish gray skin. The tree has small leaves and unisexual flowers. The fruit is small, sweet and in milky white color. The total sugar content of the fruit is 15.0%,while anthocyanin content is low. It has a juice yield of 66.5%,and the fruit soluble solids content of more than 17.0%.
