Abstract: ‘Guixiang 1’is an easily-induced agarwood germplasm of Aquilaria sinensis(Chinese agarwood)selected from superior individual trees in the forest stand of A. sinensis in Liangchong Village,Shiwo Town,Beiliu City,Yulin City,Guangxi Province. This cultivar can be artificially induced for agarwood production by drilling at 3 years of age. After 3 years of induction, the yield of agarwood reaches 11.47%,with ethanol extract content up to 43.8%. The combined relative content of 2-(2-phenylethyl)chromone and 2-[2-(4-methoxyphenyl)ethyl]chromone reaches 65.70%. Propagated through grafting,it is suitable for promotion in traditional A. sinensis planting areas of Guangxi, particularly thriving in low-altitude hilly areas with deep,fertile,well-drained acidic soil.
