A New Tea Cultivar‘Gougunao Cha 2’

Abstract: ‘Gougunao Cha 2’is selected from the tea plant population of Gougunaoin Daijiapu,Suichuan County,Jiangxi Province by systematic selection method. It has several characteristics as follows:shrub,medium leaf,early maturity and the color of the leaves is medium green. The contents of water extract,tea polyphenol,amino acid,and caffeine in one bud and two leaves picked in spring were 52.2%,23.6%,5.1%,and 4.3%,respectively. It is suitable for manufacturing curly green tea. The quality of curly green tea is excellent,the aroma is sweet with floral and fruity aroma,and the taste is mellow and refreshing. The fresh leaf yield in spring was 2 473.76 kg · hm-2. It is suitable for planting in Jiangxi Province and other regions with similar climate.
