A New Konjac Cultivar‘Zhuyajin 1’

Abstract: ‘Zhuyajin 1’is a new konjac cultivar selected from the Amorphophallus spp. population through systematic breeding. The internal tissue of the corm is yellow. The petiole surface is smooth,with a green base color adorned with white patches and stripes. As the plant grows,the base color of the petiole deepens to dark green. During flowering,the spadix is longer than the spathe,which unfolds into a nearly elliptical shape with white spots. The glucomannan content in the corm is 78.23% ± 2.10%,and the viscosity reaches up to(41 897.17 ± 2 015.33)mPa · s. This cultivar yields an average of 46 680 kg · hm-2,with a growth period of approximately 183 days. It is suitable for cultivation in regions such as Dehong,Banna,Pu’er,Lincang,Baoshan,and dry-hot valleys in Yunnan Province.
