A New Pleurotus eryngii Cultivar‘Zhongyan Zhangxing 1’

Abstract: ‘Zhongyan Zhangxing 1’is a new Pleurotus eryngii cultivar derived from a multispore cross-breeding between‘Xingsuo 28’and‘Xingsuo 44’. Its hypha body is white and grows strongly, with an optimal growth temperature of 25 ℃ and an average growth rate of 0.32 cm · d-1. The optimal temperature for mushroom production is 14-16 ℃,with a cultivation period of 52-53 d. The fruiting bodies grow in clusters,with 6-8 individual mushrooms per commercial bag,classified as moderate to small size. The pileus is rounded and thick,while the stipe exhibits a bulbous base. The yield of fresh fruit body is 121.5 kg per 100 kg dry basis. This cultivar is suitable for year-round industrialized cultivation.
