Abstract: ‘Xiasheng 6’is a novel F1 hybrid cultivar of Luffa acutangula, resulting from the crossing between female parent pureline 2012DDD-1 and male parent pureline 2017RZ-30. This cultivar demonstrated vigorous vegetative growth and reached harvest maturity in mid-early maturity. Fruit morphological traits included short-club-shaped fruits(26.0-35.0 cm length,4.9-5.5 cm diameter, and 450.0-520.0 g weight)and shallow ribbing. Nutritional analysis revealed significantly elevated vitamin C (89.0 mg · kg-1),crude fiber(6.0 g · kg-1),soluble solids(59.0 g · kg-1),and protein(9.0 g · kg-1) relative to the control, with a mildly sweet flavor and superior quality. Under Guangdong’s subtropical conditions, its heat tolerance enabled stable yields of 27 000-52 500 kg · hm-2 across two cropping seasons.
