A New Mustard Cultivar‘Zimin Mustard’with High Anthocyanin

Abstract: ‘Zimin Mustard’is a new mustard cultivar developed through hybrid breeding,using the cytoplasmic male sterile line 202-28 female as the female parent and 20P1 as the male parent. The plant type is semi upright,with broad obovate leaves,wavy leaf edges,no thorny hairs,deep purple leaves,glossy leaves,and an average weight of 253 g per plant. The plant has a height of 62 cm,a width of 58 cm,a crispy and tender texture,contains 4.0% soluble solids,10 g · kg-1 total sugar,15.1 g · kg-1 protein,0.7% crude fiber,and 662 mg · kg-1 vitamin C,the total anthocyanin content is 5 667 mg · kg-1. Through artificial inoculation identification,it exhibits moderate resistance to viral diseases. It is suitable for planting in open fields or greenhouses during autumn and winter seasons in Southern China,with a yield of 37 100 kg · hm-2.
