A New Mid-ripening Apple Cultivar‘Huafeng’

Abstract: ‘Huafeng’is a new mid-ripening apple cultivar selected from the hybrid crossed ‘Hanfu’as the seed parent and‘Delicious 80-3’as the pollen parent. The tree posture is upright and compact. The fruit is conical,with an average fruit weight of 310.4 g. The fruit background color is yellow-green,covered thick red color. The fruit is easy coloring. The flesh is light yellow,crunchy,fine and juicy. The soluble solids content is 13.1%,up to 15.3%,and the titratable acid content is 0.26%. The firmness of peeled fruit is 7.1 kg • cm-2. The comprehensive character is excellent. It is a mid maturing cultivar and it matures is in middle September in Xingcheng,Liaoning. The fruit development period was about 140 days,and the storage period was about 110 days under cold storage condition.
