Diversity Analysis of Melon Fruit Color Based on the Lab System

Abstract

Abstract:

The genetic diversity of eight qualitative traits and 11 quantitative traits（17 indicators）of 466 melon germplasm materials were analyzed,which were selected from collected and preserved resources by our research group. For the quantitative analysis of fruit color,the L、a and b values of the peel,the outer flesh and inner flesh were determined by precision colorimeter. The results showed that the diversity indexes of three quality traits and 11 quantitative traits（17 indexes）were higher than 1,which indicated that the 466 selected melon materials used in this experiment had high genetic diversity. In this study,melon fruits color were measured digitally by Lab values and color classification were carried out by Lab values,which overcame the disadvantage of inaccurate color description and realized the quantitative analysis of color. Finally this analysis lays the foundation of digital description of fruit color in melon breeding.
