Abstract: ‘Dongfangmi 1’and ‘Dongfangmi 2’are two new Hami2melon varieties for protected cultivation. Both are in high level resistant to diseases in the mass, and have good tolerance to damp, light-short- age and heat. ‘Dongfangmi 1’: The fruit shape is elliptic, the peel color is white with netting, the fruit developing period is 40 - 45 d. ‘Dongfangmi 2’: The fruit shape is elliptic, yellow peelwith fine netting, the fruit develop ing period is 45 d or so. Both average fruitmass of the two varieties are 1.5 kg. Their fruit have good storage and shipp ing quality, orange flesh of 3.5 - 4.0 cm in thickness, over 16% soluble solids content, fine and crisp texture in flesh, and the best flavor of Hami-melon.
