Efects of Start Fertilizers on Growth of Poinsettia

Abstract: This study examined the efects of various start fertilizers on poinsettia growth and nutritional status in different portions of poinsettia.Results of the study show more favorable growth and higher quality of poinsettia grown in fast-release-fertilizer (FRF) than in slow-release-fertilizer (SRF).The ratio of NO3--N
and NH4+-N in FRF did not significantly affect the growth of poinsettia. Concentrations of N,P,K,Ca,Mg, Cu and Zn in green leaves were comparable to the recommended standards while Fe and Mn concentrations exceeded the levels.
