New Begonia Varieties —‘Kunming Bird’, ‘Kang-er’and‘White Snow’

Abstract

Abstract: ‘Kunming Bird’was F₁ hybrid from the corss between Begonia rex and B. hemsleyana. It is a rhizomatic herb with erect short-stem and beautiful white spots on leaf surface. ‘Kang-er’was F₁ hybrid from the cross between B. rex and B. longialata, It is a rhizomatic and evergreen herb with large lobed leaves. ‘White Snow’was selected from a natural hybrid between B. vesicolor and B. hemsleyana. It is a rhizomatic herb with medium-sized lobed
leaves. All these three cultivars are resistant to powdery mildew.
