Abstract: ‘Muyu 1’is a new konjac cultivar obtained through a systematic breeding method from Amorphophallus bulbifer populations. The plant’s leaf posture is a Y shape, and the petiole is green and overlaid with irregular dark green stripes. The inner surface of the spathe features a dark purple color and is overlaid with light yellow spots. The fruit is an orange-red berry. The corm is globose and flattened, with a rough skin and orange-yellow flesh, and has an average yield of 51 400 kg · hm-2. The corm has an average dry matter content of 14.05% and an average glucomannan content of 51.67%(on a dry weight basis). The incidence rate of soft rot in the field is less than 3%,making it suitable for cultivation in plains or shallow hilly areas below 600 m in altitude in Sichuan Province.
