A New Konjac Cultivar‘Zhuyajin 3’

Abstract: ‘Zhuyajin 3’is a new konjac cultivar selected from the Amorphophallus spp. population by systematic breeding method. The plant is tall,with a height of 132-175 cm in 2-3 years. The corm surface is brown,and the flesh is pale yellowish-white. The petiole is smooth,with a base color of black or dark green,adorned with irregularly arranged white stripes and patches. The growth period is approximately 175 days,with an average yield of 46 545 kg · hm-2. The glucomannan content(on a dry basis)is 75.7% ± 1.11%,and the viscosity exceeds(37 804.00 ± 2 132.20)mPa · s. It exhibits strong disease resistance,with field soft rot incidence below 0.15%. It is suitable for cultivation in regions such as Dehong,Xishuangbanna,Pu’er,Lincang,Baoshan,and dry-hot valleys in Yunnan Province.
