Abstract: ‘Guire 3’is a new cultivar of papaya processed with papain.which was selected from hybrids of‘Guiying 1’as female parent and‘Shuizhonghong’as male parent. The plant has strong growth,low set fruit. The fruit is long oval,yellow,thin skin and thick flesh. The longitudinal diameters of the fruit are 32.9 cm and the transverse diameters are 10.6 cm. The fruit shape index is 3.11. The average single fruit weight is 3.57 kg;The average pulp yield of green fruits is 0.97%. The average weight of single fruit pulp is 9.67 g · kg^-1,and the yield of fruit pulp is 369.5 kg · hm^-2. The papain activity is high（18.6 × 10⁴ U · g^-1）. It has strong adaptability and is suitable for growing papaya in China.
