A New Sweet Corn Cultivar‘Bobao’

Abstract

Abstract: ‘Bobao’is a new fresh-eating sweet corn cultivar, which is made up of white-grain inbred line ‘T639’and yellow-grain inbred line‘T891’. The plant is semi compact，with strong growth potential，good green holding at late stage. Plant height is 210 cm and spike position is 75 cm. The panicle is conical with yellow-white grains，20.5 cm in length，5.2 cm in width，and the bract leaf is relatively complete. It has excellent quality with soluble sugar content of 12.6%. It has strong adaptability and good yield. The fresh panicle yield is 19 237.5 kg ? hm-2 when the planting density is 45 000 plants ? hm-2.
