Abstract: Two hybrids, 'Brunello'× 'Yellow Jiant' and 'Prato'×Lilium pumilum, were identified by karyotype analysis and SRAP techniques. Genetic differences and similarity were compared between the parents and the progenies. The results showed that the two hybrids were both triploids, and contain abundant trabant. Four pairs of SRAP primer with higher polymorphism were used and the hybrid bands and complementary bands were found in the hybrids. Pairwise genetic distances between the hybrids and their female parents are smaller than that between the progenies and their male parents. The results of SRAP were in consistent with that of karyotype analysis. The two hybrids were both true progeny of their parents, and both with a genetic tendency to their female parents.
