A New Ginkgo biloba Cultivar‘Jinbei’

Abstract: Ginkgo biloba‘Jinbei’is bred from a good color leaf mutant. The leaves of this cultivar are fan-shaped,glabrous,with many forked parallel veinlets. The top of the leaf is 5–9 cm wide. The leaf margin is often wavy notched,two-lobed,and the base is wedge-shaped. The leaves are tender yellow in spring,yellow-green in summer,and golden-yellow in autumn. The viewing period of colored leaves lasts about eight months. This cultivar has few diseases and insect pests. Avoiding waterlogging,the cultivar is resistant to drought. There is slight sunburn on the leaf edge in summer. It is suitable for bonsai,park and courtyard landscape decoration.
