A New Mid-early Maturing Muskmelon Cultivar‘Zhetian 401’

Abstract: ‘Zhetian 401’ is a mid-early maturing hybrid cultivar of muskmelon with good quality and high yield. The color of its pericarp and flesh is white. The fruit is oval shaped,with crunchy texture and good edible quality when ripe. Under upright cultivated condition,the average fruit weight is about 1.8 kg,flesh thickness is 3.8 cm. The fruit development period is 38–42 d. The soluble solids content in the central part of fruit is over 17.0%. The average yield is 36.0 t · hm-2. It is suitable for protected cultivation in Zhejiang Province in spring.
