Abstract: A test of crude toxin toxicity using garlic root inhibition was examined from toxin production related to culture medium, temperature, pH, culturing duration, light, dark or shaking conditions. Investigations concerned a garlic white rot pathogen, Sclerotium cepivorum Berk. Results showed that optimum conditions included using a Fries liquid medium at pH 5 and at18 oC, with successive dark periods and shaking during culturing. Production of crude toxin reached the highest level on the 6th day of culturing.
