Abstract: Kandelia obovata was introduced from Jiulongjiang Estuary Mangrove Nature Reserve，Fujian to Longgang，Zhejiang in 2003. A new Kandelia obovata cultivar‘Longgang’has emerged since its introduction to this low temperature region in southern Wenzhou and Taizhou. It exhibits features of vigorous growth and cold resistance in the medium and high tidal flats. Current afforestation with Kandelia obovata cultivar‘Longgang’seems plausible for Wenzhou and southern Yuhuan，Zhejiang，with winter temperature above–4.5 ℃.
