Abstract: ‘Yalü 9’is a hybrid of angular sponge gourd with high quality derived from the superior inbred line‘Yayeshuang s110’and high-quality disease-resistant inbred line‘Xiabao s227’. The node of the first female flower is 7–15，and the first gourd’s node is at 9–16. The fruit shape is long cylindrical，with dark green skin. The skin doesn’t have mottle，with deep edge groove and dark green angular. It’s 45.0–48.1 cm in length and 4.79–5.00 cm in width. The average of fruit weight and yield of per plant is 387.0–444.8 g and 1.60–1.91 kg，respectively. The general cultivation yield is 30 000–37 500 kg ? hm-2. It’s suitable for planting in Southorn China in spring and summer.
