A New Early-Flowering Pollenizer Cultivar of Kiwifruit‘Moshan Xiong 7’

Abstract: ‘Moshan Xiong 7’is a new early-flowering pollenizer of kiwifruit,selected from wild Actinidia chinensis resources in Longsheng County,Guangxi Province. The bud break rate is 63.22% and flowering rate is 95.55%. The flower is a dichotomous inflorescence,white and large in amount,and it has 3.12 cm corolla diameter,1.71 mm × 0.77 mm anther size,5-7 petals and approximate 39-48 filaments.‘Moshan Xiong 7’abundant pollen with 62.85%-80.99%. In Wuhan,flowering is in early April,flowering lasting 10-13 days. It is suitable as a pollinizer for early-flowering varieties such as‘Hongyang’and‘Donghong’ etc. The cultivar is suitable for planting in areas below 600 m altitude in Hubei and regions with similar climatic conditions.
