A New Muscat Grape Cultivar‘Shenxin’

Abstract: ‘Shenxin’is a muscat table grape cultivar selected from the cross of‘Shenfeng’and‘Jumeigui’with the characteristics of neat ear and grain,uniform coloring,pretty appearance,and easy cultivation. Its fruit cluster is cylindrical in shape with average weight of 402 g,the berries are oval,weighing averagely 8.7 g and having dark purple skin with 1-2 seeds. The flesh is tender and has delightful muscat flavor,with the soluble solids content of 18.3% and titratable acids content of 0.56%. The cultivar is fruitful with average germination rate of 74.66%,fruiting branch rate of 86.96%,fruiting coefficient of 1.86. The fruit ripens in early August under protected cultivation in Shanghai area. It is suitable for cultivation in Shanghai and regions with similar ecological conditions under rain-shelter.
