Abstract: ‘Jinjing’is a newly developed, middle maturing sweet cherry cultivar with upright, vigorous growth habit. It is a seedling accidentally discovered from the cultivation block of‘Rainier’,with unknown parents. The fruit is reniform shape, weighing 8–11 g per fruit, with a soluble solids content of 19%–21%. It is blush type sweet cherry and has medium firmness. The cultivar is known for its good flavor and low rate of fruit doubling, high yield potential and could be up to 12 000–15 000 kg · hm-2 in the 5th year. In Shanghai, under protected cultivation,it matures in mid-late May and requires approximately 500 chilling hours.‘Jinjing’is particularly suitable for early production in the suburban regions of Southern China,as well as in protected facilities in Northern China.
