Abstract: Statistical analysis was carried out on general programs accepted and funded in horticulture subject of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) during the lastest five years. The proportions of the accepted and funded projects in horticulture to those of the agriculture，the research branches’ distribution，the type of the projects and the organization characteristics were analyzed in this paper. Whereas, the adjustment of the research branches’ distribution in horticulture was introduced, so as to let the applicants understand in detail about the applying and supporting information of the horticultural subject.
