Abstract: The effects of natural ABA on chilling resistance and some physiological indexes in eggplant seedling ( Suqi 1) were investigated. The results showed thatABA could effectively enhance the ability of eggplant seedling resistance to low temperature stress. Meanwhile, ABA could remarkbly delay the decrease of SOD activities and GSH content aswell as the increase of MDA content in the leaves of eggplant seedling during low temperature stress. On the other hand, ABA could effectively promote the increasing of contents of
proline and soluble sugar in the leaves of eggplant seedling during low temperature stress. The AsA content was maintained a steady level in leaves of eggplant seedling by ABA-treatment.
