Studies on Germination Character of Wasabi (Wasabi japonica) Seeds

Abstract

Abstract: The germination character of wasabi seeds an d efect of diferent temperature, light and plant hormones, chemicals on germination percentage of wasabi seeds were studied． The results showed that germination percentage was the highest under 15 ℃，and germination percentage under 20 ℃ was lower than that under 15℃. 6-BA，GA₃，and BR could increase germination percentage of wasabi seeds among all treatments，6-BA acted the most efficiently．When seed coat was removed，germination percentage might arrive 98.0%,and germination speed became quickly，so seed coat could inhibit germination of wasabi seeds.
