Abstract: The effects of six nitrogen ( N) nutrit ion treatments on the incidence of anthracnose, stomatal density , chlorophyll content and carbohydrate content of leaves were studied in flowering Chinese cabbage. The results showed that the leaf stomatal density and disease index ( DI) were the lowest in the suitable N nutrition treatment, while in the higher or lower N nutrition or non􀀁fertilization treatments, especially in higher N treatment, the
incidence of anthracnose was easier along with the DI enhanced. Anthrax fungi could destroy the synthesis of chlorophyll and induce the accumulation of the soluble carbohydrate, while suitable N treatment could inhibit the
destruction to chlorophyll and the induction of the soluble carbohydrate caused by the anthracnose.
