Abstract: Yunnan has all types of the climate owning to its unique geographical location and the special topography. Hence Yunnan occupies the richest flora in China. Based on the field investigation on Genus Buddleja L. in Yunnan, this paper has summarized and described the natural distribution characteristics, and the ornamental features of flowers , foliages and flowering times of the 25 species which have a great ornamental potential . And some important work on exploiting the ornamental species and breeding the new cultivars has also been proposed.
