A New Highly Aromatic Tea Cultivar‘Yueming 8’

Abstract: ‘Yueming 8’is a new tea cultivar with high aroma. It belongs to small arbor type,middle leaves and early-sprouting species. The average contents of water extracts,tea polyphenols,amino acids,caffeine,soluble sugar and in shoots with one bud and two leaves picked in spring were 40.03%,29.08%,2.79%,3.31%,4.58%. It is suitable for processing black tea. The black tea has tight and black bloom appearance with obvious hair,fruit and sweet aroma with long-lasting flower aroma,mellow and fresh taste,bright orange-red soup color,red-bright and soft tea residues. It is suitable for planting in South China and southwest China.
