Abstract: The soapberry cultivar‘Qirui’is a newly developed cultivar with completely sterile stamens, selected for its unique anther specificity. Its male anthers fail to dehisce, and no pollen is present in the anthers of either male or female flowers. The cultivar exhibits a high grafting survival rate, with all grafted plants flowering by the second year. Its abundant and synchronized blooming makes it an ideal maternal parent for crossbreeding, eliminating the need for emasculation and reducing both labor and pollen contamination.
